Managing the Hybrid Organization: How Can Agile and Traditional Project Management Coexist?

Overview: Agile project management aims to increase the flexibility of product development processes through increased interaction among stakeholders. Since its introduction in software industry 20 years ago, has progressively spread other contexts, even though large-scale organizations seem struggle switch toward Agile-only practices. In these we see an integration traditional Stage-Gate management, focused on planning and validation, with Agile, responsiveness flexibility. Although it’s effective, Agile–Stage-Gate hybrid model is not easy adopt, as it requires a clear alignment between team, organizational objectives, implementation. We collected interview data from eight coaches experienced implementation non-software industries. identified practical actions that practitioners can use manage challenges connected models. These corrective be grouped at three levels: aspects, cultural change, perceptions methodology.
